Tax Bill

#1 Post by k.d. » Sat Dec 23, 2017 4:29 pm

Isn't it ironic that the people who don't pay taxes (legally) want higher taxes so they can get more free stuff from the government.

Everybody wants and gets free stuff from the government. Poor folks just don't have the luxury of having someone else squealing at the trough of the nanny-state on their behalf.

I will agree with your inference that the middle class pays their disportionate share. But the democrats have an equal partner in the republicans in pulling off this theft. The main difference is that the GOP makes a greater effort in convincing us witless fools that what they are doing is good for us.

I will also agree that democrats do "squeal at the trough of the nanny-state" on behalf of the poor. But their main clients are still the rich folks.

I've always been baffled by the concept that if the bill is $100, and you pay nothing, I pay $25, and the other guy pays $75, we're each paying our fair share.

I will agree with your inference that the middle class pays their disproportionate share.

Well, I did say middle class. And I also said "disproportionate" share not "fair" share. Fairness is totally in the eye of the beholder. Plus rich people do consume government services.
