Oh Goody - Trump Stimuli

#1 Post by j.p. » Fri Jan 05, 2018 10:25 am

Tax Policy - good old fashion Reagonomics only there is no compelling economic need. We are not in a recession. the econony is rolling now. Adds to deficit. Likely to cause inflation. Mostly political payback.

Infrastucture - good old fashion Obamanomics. The roaring economy should take of infrastructure needs, right ?. That's is the schtick sold to the halfwits. Adds to deficit. Political playback.

The Wall - good old fashion deplorablenomics. No economic or social value. It is political payback in it's purest form. Adds to deficit.

And now the most intelligent and desirable that won't happen:
Legalization of Marijuana - Adds nothing to deficit. Requires little or no governmental expenditure and will increase government revenues . It's freedom and FREE MONEY !. What could be better than that ?

You are surprised? All of these were in every stump speech he gave for a year-and-a-half.

Not really surprised, doesn't make it better policy. Did Trump mention that he would run up deficits during the campaign ? Not sure, he did extol the virtues of debt. He said a lot of shit during the campaign, of which we might agree most won't happen.

His base is star-struck, I don't think it matters what Trump says. A good example of that would be what's going on now with "Sloppy Steve". Bannon is infinitely more in tune to the political beliefs of Trump's base than Trump himself. But now that Bannon has hurt Trump's feeling, the base has turned on him. They should be celebrating him.

Since Donald Trump became president, the Dow Jones industrial average has climbed to 25,000 and fewer Americans are unemployed.

Another interesting fact: The number of people collecting food stamps has declined by more than two million.

Data released by the Department of Agriculture show that the number of participants in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), otherwise known as food stamps, dropped to 42,182,443 for fiscal 2017 – a decline of 2,036,920 from the fiscal 2016 total of 44,219,363.

USDA figures since show that the program has gone from costing taxpayers about $250 million for about 2.8 million recipients in 1969, under President Richard Nixon, to a peak of costing nearly $80 billion for nearly 48 million recipients in 2013, under President Barack Obama.

If you are agreeing that Trump is better than Obama ever was, yes, we agree.

When Trump does something, I'll get back to you on that.

If we agree that there is a world wide economic boom, then what is the point of the stimulus I mention in the OP ?

How did you get from "Trump Stimuli" to "worldwide economic boom"?

Japan, China and European markets are doing as well and some better the US markets. And none of them have anything to it do with Trump.

The economy does not need additional artificial stimulus

I'm gonna need a source for all these wild & crazy claims you are making.
About the wall, I usually check in with Ann Coulter on that matter. Here is her recent tweet on the progress being made on the wall:
Today's BORDER WALL CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: Miles completed yesterday-Zero; Miles completed since Inauguration-- Zero. NEXT UPDATE TOMORROW.
